Web 2.0 and Web 3.0

I found this concept of Web 2.0 service something I use almost daily and never thought of in an educational aspect- formally. Informally I think there has always been the subtle educational component and maybe not so subtle.
I picked two applications that are related with my backgrounds in Law and Public Health and ultimately in Education.

The first link:
http://www.plol.org/Pages/Search.aspx
This application provides a virtual law library for basic research. The Public Library of Law. I see the uses endless here for student debaters, or politics or government classes. I have used similar tools for classes when a Supreme Court case is due and I have asked students to decide what they think will be concluded and why. Of course this has many more advanced applications as well. I also see this being linked to someone’s Twitter or Face Book or any number of social networks.

The second link:
http://www.mdjunction.com/

MDJunction. com is a basic area for people to look at diagnosis tools, health related questions, treatments and therapy for those having similar health issues. This idea of a health-related community can be a tool for aspiring nurses, doctors or physician assistants, and so on. I think it is potentially a problem with misuse and people taking the site as definitive and not seek doctor intervention or diagnosis.

I see using both applications in a way to also relate the disciplines and could be as instructional for practitioners and a way to understand how patients/clients sometimes get their information.
Thanks,
David
